John has a 37-year career in the residential construction field. After 25 years as a contractor, he has moved his focus to design, drafting and coaching. Of those three, coaching is his favorite. John enjoys helping others grasp how to use the tools in Chief Architect so that they can work more efficiently. His expertise in the building industry effectively equips him to help others, since he understands how homes are built. Along with his daughter, Rebekah, and a few others, John is also helping other design companies and contractors complete their plans. As time allows, he enjoys creating his own unique home plans.
He lives in northern Minnesota with his wife, Patti. Together they raised seven children who have scattered themselves out from Florida to Alaska and a few other places in between. Thankfully, traveling is one of their favorite activities, so visiting children and grandchildren is at the top of their list of hobbies, as well as bicycling and making new friends wherever they go.
John has been involved in the residential remodeling and building industry since 1983 and has been using Chief Architect Design Software in his business for over 20 years. John will assist and share his passion and insights into how Chief works for him and how you can use it to effectively improve your business.
He is the founder of Imagine Drafting & Design, leads a proficient team of Drafting Subcontractors known for their expertise in achieving excellence in every project. With an extensive career in residential construction contracting, he has shifted his focus to design, drafting, and coaching. Among these, coaching holds a special place in his heart.
John takes pleasure in assisting individuals in mastering the use of Chief Architect Design Software, enabling them to work more efficiently. His years of experience in the building industry uniquely qualify him to guide others, as he possesses a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in home construction.
He also serves as a regular host of the Designers Show by Chief Experts, sharing his expertise and insights with the audience.
